A credit card malfunction at a rather tiny Italian Alps store resulted in five Olympic tickets and a thank-you that will not be forgotten.

Snoop Dogg has been the ever-present face of NBC during the 2026 Winter Games in Milan Cortina, leaning his role into correspondent and enthusiastic cheerleader of Team USA. Out of the cameras, this energy with him to Livigno where a takeout order had become a spontaneous act of kindness between an international superstar and a local family business.
In Cronox restaurant and bar, Livigno, Snoop had dinner to go: chicken wings, chicken nuggets and french fries and a cheeseburger. His staff attempted to pay using his card, but it did not go through according to the daughter of the owners. Sofia Valmadre, the person who commented on the event, explained that the payment would just not go through. Instead of making a bad situation worse, her mother assured him it was okay and sent the food out the door anyway-a very antique, trust-first thing that may seem hard to come by in an Olympic venue as high-security and busy as it is. It would have been the end of that.
In lieu, the family was given a note of appreciation that befitted the Games. According to Valmadre, Snoop sent five tickets so that his family could attend the men halfpipe final in the snowboard competition, saying: “Today, Snoop sent us five tickets to the final. Grazie Snoop.” It was not a glitzy, show-boat presence of the gift, but rather a slightly, experience-based form of thanks that transformed a small matters of payment into an outing of a lifetime.
The exchange was also similar to the one that Snoop viewers have been watching during the Olympics: a personality who makes an appearance, gets involved, and maintains the light mood. He has been around with top-tier athletes, appeared at various locations, and tilted into his role of an outsider attempting to use the unknown winter sports. One of the most discussed, he was taught how to do it by Shaun White, a three-time Olympic gold medalist in the snowboard halfpipe and tried bobsledding as an on-air activity.
Snoop, on the Today show, said of the rush of going on the ice and doing something new: It was the first time in my life that I did anything like that on the ice, and I was brave enough to do it. And I tell you I would repeat it again and again and again. I had fun. That was super fun. Meanwhile he made a hard line with a laugh: I would never do bobsledding again. That’s just not me. I am not going down that hill, I look good in there. I had a good time.
To a Games based on peak performance, the Cronox tale landed at an alternative reason. It emphasized how even little and humane choices such as forfeiting a payment in the here now and repaying the debt in an appreciative manner can form the type of bond that people will recall many years after the medals were tally.
