IKEA is adding 10 U.S. stores in 2026 see the cities on the list

The expansion of IKEA in 2026 does not imply a single “new store,” more of attempting to get nearer to where people already live and make their purchases. The company has indicated that it will open 10 new locations in the United States in 2026, both the firsts of its kind in specific markets and the further expansion into more convenient formats.

The update came together with the IKEA U.S. FY 25 annual summary, which includes September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025. In the same report, the interim CEO Rob Olson commented, “Looking ahead to FY26, we will build on this momentum, focusing on continued investment in the U.S. to make IKEA more affordable, accessible and sustainable.”

To shoppers, the headline is simple: It has a lot more sites to window shop, design rooms and collect orders as opposed to turning furniture shopping into a day-long trip. The company has over 50 stores in the United States and over 500 stores across the globe and has been steadily increasing its presence in small-format shops and plan-and-order alternatives to the conventional large-box shops. It is important since the trip to IKEA is frequently a series of tasks, namely, measuring, planning, clicking on the “add to cart” button, and determining how to get their goods delivered or picked up, as opposed to a simple browsing and purchasing experience.

The list is made of eight states, with Texas being the recipient of three locations. The cities where IKEA will open new stores in 2026 include Phoenix, Huntsville, Alabama, Culver City, California, Fort Collins, Colorado, Gurnee Mills, Illinois, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dallas, Rockwall, Texas, Webster, Texas, and Chantilly, Virginia.

Certainly some of the most prominent additions have prominent labels of “first.” IKEA stated that the Tulsa store will be the first IKEA store in Oklahoma, which will provide the brand with a new home base in a state that used to have to travel to neighboring states via roads or order online. The Culver City store is located as the first city-centered store in Los Angeles, a case that indicates that IKEA still centers its stores in more densely populated and pedestrian-friendly locations where customers may not have access to large vehicles.

The summary yearly also demonstrates the reason why this growth is occurring today. IKEA U.S. has announced a total of 5.3 billion sales in FY25 and 1.9 billion as a result of e-commerce and stated that the stores received almost 61 million visitors and online more than 457 million visits. The firm also emphasized that the IKEA Family program had enrolled 25 million members indicating the extent to which the customer relationship is now being conducted digitally despite its finalizing in-store.

Practically, new destinations will transform the way in which people consume the brand: showrooms will be located nearer, pick up will be easier to book, and planning will be more convenient. For communities that have long been far from an IKEA store,”IKEA distance” could narrow down to a distance that could be pushed to pass as a normal weekend shopping run.
